Established in 2002 with a vision to make an extraordinary difference in the lives of our stakeholders.  We are looking to add a Staff Accountant to our Accounting team.  This role will be onsite at our Buffalo Grove, IL office, with the ability to work in a hybrid capacity, 3 days in office.  

Position Purpose:

The primary purpose of this position is to assist day-to-day areas of accounting for the MNJ businesses to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial operations and reporting.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform entry, reconciliation, and ongoing review of all cloud billing transactions, including maintaining journal entries
  • Maintain all journal entries for the prepayment schedule.
  • Reconcile cash accounts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Compile, review, reconcile, and post vendor and customer RMA credit memos in the accounting system, promptly resolving discrepancies and ensuring accurate transaction recording.
  • Process inventory transactions for inventory lots and warehouse installations, managing all inbound and outbound warehouse movements accurately.
  • Review, analyze, and verify approval of employee expense reports; validate supporting documentation, classify expenses in accordance with company policy and GAAP, and submit for payment.
  • Perform weekly and monthly reconciliations of company credit card and credit card clearing accounts; investigate variances and post required general ledger adjustments timely.
  • Assist with month‑end close activities, ensuring proper period recognition of revenue, expenses, and credits, and preparing adjustments as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • General understanding of accounting principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to operate in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment with shifting priorities.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook, and ability to easily learn computerized systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial information.
  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with vendors, customers, employees, and the general public.

The hourly pay rate for this role is $60,000 - $65,000/year.  Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
