Established in 2002 with a vision to make an extraordinary difference in the lives of our stakeholders.  We are looking to add a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to our Accounting team.  

Position Purpose: 

The primary purpose of this position is to prepare and process payments for vendor invoices and other financial commitments in line with the company's internal accounting policies. This includes reviewing purchase orders, statements, and invoices to confirm the amounts owed. This position is also responsible for maintaining and reconciling the accounts payable ledger, ensuring that all financial records are accurate and up to date.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for managing the AP inbox and directly responding to or delegating as appropriate.
  • Responsible for overseeing vendor set up in company system and ensure the highest level of accuracy of information is entered.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors, reconciling vendor statements, and resolving complex payment disputes.
  • Review, code, and enter invoices into ERP system, ensuring proper G/L account coding and ensure that vendor invoices and expense vouchers are paid in a timely manner, and that accurate financial records and control reports are maintained.
  • Review monthly reconciliations and approve for posting, for the following: credit cards, DLL, AP Clearing accounts, etc.
  • Generate, review, and release weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers.
  • Maintain the Company’s reseller certificates, ensuring they are up to date and accurate and provide to vendors when appropriate to ensure proper taxation.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities, including but not limited to journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Oversee all 1099 annual compliance and annual reporting in partnership with manager. Work with external accounting firm for annual processing.
  • Serve as lead accounts payable resource for audits.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for automating or streamlining accounts payable workflows.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • At least 5 years of progressive accounts payable experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience with vendor management in accounts payable.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word and Excel).
    • Excel experience must include but is not limited to creating Pivot tables, V-look ups and developing appropriate formulas as needed.  
  • Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to apply initiative, multi-task, and prioritize
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with vendors, customers, employees and the general public.

The salary for this role is $70,000 - $80,000/year.  Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
